1958, in Nœux-Les-Mines, a small mining town in the North of France. Pierre and Vlad are the two best friends in the world. They share all their time digging in the mine, raising carrier pigeons and playing the accordion in the local orchestra led by Sosthène, the life and soul of the party, a barroom philosopher, a central character in this small, jovial and colorful sphere despite the coal dust. From the day the pretty Lei comes to play the accordion in the orchestra, the world of the two best friends will no longer be the same...
