Request for civil status correction
The National Directory of Identification of Natural Persons (RNIPP) includes the following information:
- Civil status information for people born in France
- Registration number (Nir) corresponding to the social security number
This information is used for certain procedures: taxes, vital card, census, elections, etc.
If you notice an error concerning your identity , you can request a correction from Insee : Insee: National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies which manages the RNIPP.
For example, an error in your last name, first names, gender, date or place of birth.
The requested corrections must comply with the information contained on the birth certificate.
Prepare the following information to submit the online request for rectification :
- Full copy recent of the birth certificate of the person concerned by the request for rectification
- Directory identification number (social security number) if the request concerns an adult
