The Gardens of Cèze
In Bagnols-sur-Cèze, several community garden projects were developed, a year after the Second World War and then in the years 1990-1995, relying solely on community organizations and individual goodwill. In 2014, the City decided to take over a space located on the banks of the Cèze, which had been abandoned. Coordinated by Alain David, a project team was set up. This was the birth of the Jardins En Cèze (JEC) project.
The project
The old gardens were closed in November 2015, the land was decontaminated and 12 plots of 50m², 10 plots of 75m², 47 plots of 100m² as well as 3 association plots of 300 m² were established.
The first plots were allocated in April 2016. Today, all the plots are occupied and each year, several become available and are re-let to new people from Bagnole. The 3 associative plots are worked by Mosaïque en Cèze, Risposte Maison Relais, and the day hospital.
To obtain the rental of a garden, 2 conditions are necessary: being from Bagnoles and not having a garden.
Values
Allotment gardens, also called “Jardins en Cèze”, are part of an approach to eco-citizenship and respect for the environment in order to become a place for meetings and exchanges around a corner of land for gardening with fertilizers natural and pesticide-free.
The operation of “Jardins en Cèze” is based on values such as conviviality, courtesy, solidarity, fairness, and mutual aid.
Furthermore, these are places where diversity, social bonds and exchange must be favored in a collective dynamic that we must endeavor to maintain and develop.

Application file for the allocation of a plot to be collected from the municipal agent on duty.
A waiting list is kept up to date in order to offer the gardens made available for rental to the oldest application files.
Rental “conviviality space”
This land is available for daily rental by the municipality. On the site we provide tables and chairs, a pétanque court, a double barbecue, 2 electric planchas as well as a power supply.
This rental is only intended for residents of Bagnoles and Bagnolese associations.
Price and payment
100€ per day with 2000€ deposit. From 8 a.m. until 22 p.m.
