HEAT WAVE PLAN 2026

The National Heatwave Plan is in place from June 1st to September 15th, 2026.

In this context, the CCAS of the City of Bagnols-sur-Cèze keeps a heatwave register for vulnerable or isolated people in order to ensure monitoring during periods of high heat.

Registered individuals may be contacted to receive prevention advice and to regularly check their health status according to the current alert level.

The right reflexes to adopt

  • Stay cool and avoid going out between 11am and 21pm;
  • Close shutters and windows during the day;
  • Ventilate your home at night;
  • Drink at least 1,5 liters of water per day;
  • Prioritize sufficient and hydrating food;
  • Regularly moisten your body;
  • Limit physical exertion;
  • Avoid alcohol consumption;
  • Keep in regular contact with loved ones;
  • In case of illness, call 15.

The different alert levels

Level 1 – Seasonal monitoring (green alert)

From June 1st to September 15th, 2026.

Level 2 – Heat warning (yellow alert)

The CCAS informs people registered on the list and reminds them of the prevention guidelines.

Level 3 – Heatwave alert (orange alert)

Triggered by the Prefect.
The CCAS is applying the prefectural instructions and is contacting the beneficiaries every two days until the alert is lifted.

Level 4 – Maximum mobilization (red alert)

Triggered at the national level by the Prime Minister.
The CCAS contacts registered individuals daily and applies government guidelines.

If there is no response after two calls, the CCAS (Local Social Action Centre) contacts the designated contact person indicated on the registration form. If necessary, the municipal police may be called in to check the health of the person concerned.

Registrations on the heatwave register

Registrations can be made directly by the people concerned or by their relatives with the CCAS or the Espace Seniors.

In addition, the Seniors' Area will adapt its hours to offer a welcome in an air-conditioned space from 10am to 17pm.
