Field missions

The municipal police ensure security, tranquility, good order and health in public places and roads.
It intervenes in the context of flagrant crimes of theft, violence, various damages, burglaries, drug trafficking, robberies, etc.
It carries out road checks (highway violations and speed checks).
She assists the Police, Gendarmerie and Firefighters with various interventions.
On call, she acts with the SACPA for the capture of stray or dangerous animals, she is responsible for the management of 1st and 2nd category dogs (Pit-Bull, similar Mastiffs, Rottweiler, American Staffordshire Terrier, Tosa-inu).
The municipal police regulate traffic at school crossings, and during sporting, recreational and cultural events.

 

Administrative missions

The municipal police draft municipal decrees for occupations of public property (works, removals, sporting, cultural and recreational events, etc.). They register subscriptions for paid parking, receive disputes following non-payment of fees, manage RAPOs (compulsory prior administrative appeals).
She also manages lost objects and vacation peacekeeping operations.
She checks the documents relating to the street sales of non-sedentary traders on Wednesday mornings.
She handles automobile impound files.

ASVP (Public road surveillance agent)

The ASVPs are called upon to record contraventions in particular of the highway code or to carry out findings provided for in the environmental code. In this regard, they undertake “to fulfill their functions well and faithfully” and to observe all the duties they impose, without disclosing information. They are responsible for surveillance on public roads, particularly in terms of parking, and also carry out the road safety mission for schools.

Urban Supervision Center (CSU)

The urban supervisory center is responsible for preventing attacks on the safety of people and property in areas exposed to theft or attack.
It contributes to the regulation of road traffic and supports police actions.
It contributes to the surveillance and protection of public buildings and installations.
He participates in security when entering and leaving schools.
A telephone on-call service is available 24 hours a day for the various security services (Police and National Gendarmerie).

Video verbalization and speed limits

Since February 1, 2023, video enforcement has been based on video protection devices installed in public spaces and makes it possible to sanction remotely an infraction of the highway code, noted on a control screen by sworn agents and reported by the proof of a screenshot.

The City does not collect money from fines. All revenue is collected by the State to finance, maintain and deploy road safety systems on the national territory, but also to develop public transport solutions.
