Local advertising regulations
The Environmental Code and the RLP regulate advertisements, signs and pre-signs visible from a road open to public traffic (includes devices affixed to private property but excludes devices located inside a premises ).
The municipality of Bagnols-sur-Cèze approved its RLP during the municipal council of December 14, 2019. It defines several zones (covering the entire municipal territory) where more restrictive regulations apply than the requirements of the national regulation while reconciling freedom of expression with the protection of the living environment.
From its implementation, advertisements and pre-signs complying with previous regulations have two years to comply with the provisions of the RLP. The brands have six years to comply. In accordance with article L.581-18 of the Environmental Code, any sign installation must be subject to prior authorization from the mayor, after presentation of the sign installation request file including the forms CERFA are available here.
The RLP includes:
- a presentation report which is based on a diagnosis, defines the orientations and objectives of the municipality in terms of outdoor advertising, in particular density and harmonization, and explains the choices made with regard to these orientations and objectives.
- a regulatory part which includes requirements adapting national provisions. The requirements of the RLP can be general or apply only to the areas it identifies.
- a graphic document which shows the areas identified by the RLP across the entire territory of the municipality.
- annexes.
