Population census
This year, Bagnols-sur-Cèze is conducting a population census to better understand its evolution and needs, and thus develop projects, both large and small, to address them. A portion of the housing and residents will be counted starting January 15, 2026.
How's it going ?
In our municipality, the population census takes place every year. Each year, a different sample of dwellings is surveyed. If you live in one of these dwellings, a letter will be delivered to your mailbox informing you about the census.
For the year 2026, the population census will take place from January 15 to February 21.
Then, a census taker, recruited by the municipality, will provide you with an online information sheet, either in your mailbox or in person. Simply follow the instructions provided to complete the census online. This document is essential; keep it safe.

Why are you being counted?
The population census determines how many people live in France and establishes the official population of each municipality. The population census also provides statistics on the population: age, occupation, means of transport used, and housing…
The results of the population census are essential for the life of the municipality. They allow:
- Determining the state's contribution to our municipality's budget: the more populated the municipality, the greater this allocation! Responding to the census therefore allows the municipality to have the financial resources necessary for its operation.
- Defining the number of elected officials on the municipal council, the voting method, the number of pharmacies…
- Identify the needs in terms of public facilities (transport, schools, retirement homes, sports facilities, etc.), shops, housing…

By whom?
The population census is safe! The data is confidential and INSEE is the only body authorized to use the questionnaires, and it does so anonymously.
The census takers, trained for the occasion, who will be working in Bagnols-sur-Cèze are: Christèle Perrin (city centre sector), Sylviane Gauthier (northern urban sector: Capite, Saduran, Aubépines…), Christophe Gauthier (southwest urban and peri-urban southwest sector: Lagaraud…), Hocine Ouklasse (Les Escanaux sector and northern rural area: Carmignan…) and Isabelle Marsan (Bourdimhan, Bordelet sector…).
This year, 755 addresses will be recorded in the municipality.
